Finding and Creating Sea Glass Jewellery

Posted by Anissa Reed at

Hey there, my name is Freyja Reed, the one and only daughter of Anissa Reed. In this post, I'll be sharing with you, the process, and story, in which Anissa finds and makes the jewellery available for you through her online website.

Before she really got into art, my mom worked as an under water scuba guide on the coast of BC for about a decade. However, when she had me, Anissa was stuck on land... or beach! That was when she got hooked on beach glass. As soon as I could walk, I was there to help her. Collecting sea glass reminded my mom of the ocean, and she wanted to find a way to bring that home. The solution?... creating sea glass jewellery.

Now, almost 10 years later, Anissa is still passionate about collecting and creating unique pendants, bracelets, earrings, and even sun catchers. With 10 years of experience, her products are exquisite. We only use the smoothest pieces of glass and all metals are sterling silver or minimum 925 grade. All pieces are used in their natural state, no tumbling. My mom has spent hundreds of hours drilling sea glass, she uses a diamond drill bit in water. The last part of creating her signature sea glass jewellery is all creativity. Anissa chooses the most suitable charm and/or Swarovski crystal to complement the glass. These products are high quality and the prices vary according to rarity of the colour and how much silver or crystals were used.

We highly recommend reading "Pure Sea Glass" to anyone wanting to learn more.

This bracelet is a perfect example of an Anissa Reed Original. This was made from all Anissa's rarest pieces and sold within 24 hours of being listed. People who appreciate sea glass, understand that this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to own your own little piece of the coast.
